Clean-up
Begins in Stuart Close

Clean-up begins in Stuart Close,
Emmer Green
Following concerns that the quality of
grass cutting in Stuart Close was
deteriorating earlier this year, your
Conservative Councillors asked for the
central green area to be tidied,
stinging nettles removed and access to
the trees enabled for local children. We
also received complaints regarding the
dumping of garden refuse, a mattress,
gas cylinder and felled trees in the
gulley running between Stuart Close and
Surley Row. We have now gained agreement
for a clearance of the area, commencing
9 November 2009. Undergrowth will not be
cut right back to rear boundaries,
retaining a barrier to unwanted access,
but the amenity value will be enhanced.
For any residents used to dumping garden
refuse here, we ask you, please, to use
the green bin facility or take your own
refuse to the Smallmead Civic Amenity
site.
