Your Peppard Ward Councillors work closely with the local Police team, headed by Inspector Penny Mackenzie. Penny provides a weekly updates to us regarding all incidents in Caversham.

Penny's Team Update
I mentioned the spate of theft of doorbells in Lower Caversham recently in my last update. Enquiries have been continuing this week and a number of names have been put forward and although at the moment we believe the people responsible are under the age of 10, we will work with the Youth Offending service and Social Services to address their offending.

I anticipated we would experience an increase in the reported crime over the Halloween weekend but there were fewer reports than we had the previous weekend due to the hard work from the team to be out and about and speak with groups of youngsters before any offences were committed.

The team held two successful street briefings this week where various issues were raised by the residents in St Johns Rd and Queens Rd.

The police and other interested agencies met again on Thurs afternoon to discuss the burglaries in the area. We have started the problem solving process and will meet again in January to discuss an in depth analysis of the issues.
