Phone Kiosk at Caversham Park Village
set alight by yobs

Cllr Jamie Chowdhary marks the spot after successfully negotiating
the removal of the eyesore with BT and Reading Borough Council

Once again the Northbrook Road / Milestone Centre area of Caversham Park Village is being blighted by anti social behaviour including graffiti, criminal damage and arson.

Councillor Mark Ralph has previously dealt with problems from youth causing problems. In 2005, he worked closely with the local Police Inspector to initiate a programme of activity to increase the Police presence and stop antisocial behaviour and graffiti.

It was very effective and levels of both are still well down on 2004 levels but these things tend to reoccur with new generations.

The local Police team say "We spent quite a bit of time at the Milestone Centre car park/ underpass over the weekend. This is now one of our ASB [antisocial behaviour] priority areas due to the issues you have mentioned. we will over the coming weeks be identifying a core group and then taking appropriate action against them"
