Evening Post report
While the passing of another election
may elicit sighs of relief, we would
like to thank all readers of Village
Voice that supported us.
Since 2004, the Conservative Group on
Reading Borough Council has increased
from 3 to 18 Councillors, our votes have
increased by 34% and this year our share
of the total vote was 40.5% (3,144 more
than Labour at 32.2% and 8,736 more than
the Lib Dems at 17.6%). The makeup of
the Council is now Labour 20,
Conservative 18, LibDem 8.
The results for Peppard Ward this year
were: Jamie Chowdhary (Conservative)
1,857, Hendry (LibDem) 1,086, Labour
246, Green 116.
Whatever your political affiliations,
please call us with any local issues or
concerns on the numbers/email addresses
below. We will be happy to help.
In the meantime, following Bob Green’s
decision to stand down as Peppard Ward
Councillor and Leader of the LibDem
Group, we take this opportunity to
acknowledge his time and contribution as
a Councillor and to wish him a healthy
and happy retirement.
